Every Feed a Family Plan helps us distribute rescued fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded due to appearance, not quality. These are the same delicious, nutritious items you’ll find at our market, but often rejected by grocery stores for being “too ugly” for shelves.
The Problem We’re Tackling
Food waste and food insecurity are two sides of the same broken system. While thousands of families across Canada struggle to access affordable fresh food, tons of perfectly edible produce are thrown out every single week.
We’re here to change that. By rescuing surplus and “imperfect” produce and redirecting it to where it’s needed most, we’re helping close the gap, one potato at a time.
Real Numbers, Real Need
Last year, thanks to the support of our community, we were able to donate over $1.4 million worth of fresh produce to food banks, shelters, and community organizations.
But here’s the part most people don’t see: sadly, food donation isn’t free.
Getting that produce from the field to a family’s table involves real costs, from cold storage and packing to transportation and labor. In 2024 alone, our donation program incurred nearly $100,000 in logistics costs.
